Едновременно на мъжа е присадена и част от лицето Медици в САЩ са извършили първата в света трансплантация на цяло око, става известно от съобщение за пресата, публикувано на уебсайта на Нюйоркския университет “Лангон” (NYULH), предаде ТАСС. “Екип от хирурзи от NYULH извърши първата в света трансплантация на цяло око и част от лицето на 46-годишен ветеран от войната от Арканзас, който е оцелял след нараняване от електрически ток с високо напрежение по време на работа”, се казва в съобщението, предава dnes.bg. Повече от 140 хирурзи, медицински сестри и медицински персонал извършили операцията в продължение на около 21 часа на 27 май. Трансплантираното око вече показа “забележителни признаци на здраве”, но все още не е известно дали пациентът ще може да вижда с него. Съобщава се, че мъжът е загубил и част от лявата си ръка, бузата, брадичката, целия си нос, устните и предните зъби. Според разпространеното прессъобщение това е единствената успешна комбинирана трансплантация.
