Брюксел обмисля дали да удължи спешния таван на цените на газа, въведен през февруари на фона на опасенията, че конфликтът в Близкия изток и саботажът на балтийски тръбопровод може да повиши цените отново тази зима, пише Financial Times.
Според презентация, представена пред дипломати от 27-те държави-членки на ЕС и видяна от Financial Times, Европейската комисия е заявила, че “няма индикации за негативни ефекти” след влизането в сила на мярката и че цените на газа в момента са с почти 90 % по-ниски от миналата година.
Ограничението беше въведено след многоседмични напрегнати дискусии между държавите членки, като първоначално Германия и Австрия се противопоставиха на въвеждането му с аргумента, че то ще наруши пазарите и ще задълбочи кризата с доставките. Но ограничението не се е отразило на вноса на газ в ЕС, се отбелязва в презентацията на Комисията.
Високопоставени дипломати и служители на ЕС са заявили пред FT, че въпреки спада на цените на енергията и рекордните нива на съхранение на газ в ЕС, доставките през тази зима могат да бъдат засегнати от войната между Израел и “Хамас” и потенциални саботажи върху газовата инфраструктура.
“Не знаем какво ще се случи тази година. Имаме ситуацията в Израел и не знаем как това ще се отрази на вноса от Близкия изток”, е заявил един от дипломатите на ЕС.
Източниците на FT са допълнили, че газопроводът в Балтийско море, който беше саботиран по-рано този месец, е друг проблем и “би било добре да се застраховаме”.
В разгара на енергийната криза, предизвикана от прекратяването на доставките на газ за Европа от Москва след нахлуването ѝ в Украйна през 2022 г., цените достигнаха над 300 евро (588 лева) за MwH, но не за продължителен период от време.
