Опашка от вярващи се изви пред митрополитския храм в София, където за първи път беше изнесена за поклонение частица от мощите на свети Патриарх Евтимий – последният предстоятел на църквата ни преди падането на България под Османско робство през XIV век.
Тази сутрин светите мощи бяха донесени с литийно шествие в столичния храм „Св. великомъченица Марина“ в Софийската митрополия от епископ Сионий.
Параклисът се оказа тесен за множеството духовници и миряни, дошли да се поклонят пред мощите на свети Патриарх Евтимий.
Негово светейшество патриарх Неофит пръв се поклони пред светинята и дари патриаршески инсигнии, които да останат в мощехранителницата. И получи дар – частица от мощите на свети патриарх Евтимий Търновски.
„Приемете тази частица от светите мощи на великия български небесен покровител, които 620 години не са напускали Бачковската света обител, а сега идват, за да благословят столичния град, милото ни отечество – майка България, и целия ни народ”, заяви епископ Сионий.
В продължение на 3 часа броят на вярващите пред храма не намаля, но всички търпеливо чакаха. С надежда.
