Европейският парламент ще гласува утре на първо четене въвеждането на електронни шенгенски визи, след като днес евродепутатите обсъдиха промени в европейското законодателство по този въпрос. Най-големите парламентарни групи подкрепиха законопроекта, съобщава кореспондентът на БТА Николай Желязков.
От името на групата на Европейската народна партия евродепутатът Емил Радев посочи, че промените ще улеснят проверките по границите и предвиждат въвеждането на единна платформа за подаване на молби за визи. Той отбеляза, че новите документи ще бъдат издавани и от България.
Вече 12 години България и Румъния чакат да бъдат приети в Шенген, заяви Радев. „Макар че днес още не сме пълноправни членове на Шенген, също ще можем да издаваме електронни шенгенски визи. Приемам това като доказателство, че мястото на България и Румъния е в клуба на държавите без вътрешни гранични проверки. Живеем в много турбулентни времена, затова повече от всякога се нуждаем от сигурност и стабилност, от затегнат контрол по външните ни граници”, настоя той.
Хуан Агилар (Социалисти и демократи) допълни, че ЕП ще преговаря за въвеждането на хуманитарни визи. Мортен Петерсен („Обнови Европа”) добави, че е необходима подобрена защита на външните граници, а законодателните промени биха затруднили подправянето на визите и биха улеснили Съвета на ЕС да подкрепи приемането на България и Румъния в Шенген.

Така силите ще бъдат насочени към охраната на външните граници, където са наистина необходими. Присъединяването ще улесни веригите за доставки в ЕС. Уверен съм, че скоро ще има положително решение”, посочи Схинас.
